Adult Guardianships and Conservatorships

The Developmental Disabilities Planning Council’s (DDPC) Office of Guardianship (OOG) is a statewide publicly funded program for New Mexican adults who need a Guardian, are income eligible, and are alleged to be incapacitated.

Advocacy Inc. helps parents and relatives obtain legal guardianship for an adult child with a development disability; typically a child they have been caring for since birth.

Both Advocacy Inc and Pegasus Legal Services for Children provide information and assistance for caregivers who want to petition to be appointed guardian of a child who is not their biological or legal child.
